POSTGRADUATE STUDIES IN EDUCATION
Welcome to postgraduate studies at Macquarie.
Postgraduate study can be undertaken by way of the Master of Education, Master of Higher Education, Master of Educational Leadership or Master of Philosophy degrees. Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma programs are also available through which you can study components of a Masters degree and transfer to the full degree when you are ready to do so. Your study program can be undertaken online, through face-to-face components, or by a combination of modes. Postgraduate study can be undertaken by coursework, by a combination of coursework and research, or by research. Macquarie’s Teaching and Learning Program centres on the Master of Education or the Master of Higher Education degrees with their focus specifically on teaching and learning and on developing subject or content-based expertise.
The Educational Leadership Program is a postgraduate program for those aspiring to or in formal positions of leadership in the early childhood, school, or VET and Higher Education sectors. The Master of Educational Leadership degree, and related postgraduate certificate and diploma programs, are focused on addressing relevant issues in education today through the application of theory and research in ways that contribute to workplace improvement and career path progression.
The Higher Degree Research Program is an integral part of each of the degree programs above. You can proceed by way of workplace inquiry and research studies at the Masters level to Macquarie’s Doctoral Program.
